Our history

SB Talee was founded in Italy as a company dedicated to breeding and propagating carnations

A company originally founded by Forese Salviati & Palle Brunn in Tuscany (Italy) dedicated to the research and development of new varieties of carnations and spray carnations, and to the production and distribution of mother plants and cuttings of such varieties in many countries around the world.

SB Talee de Colombia was established, expanding the company’s international presence

A subsidiary of SB Talee Italia in a farm located 50 Km west of the capital city of Bogota, to produce and sell carnation cuttings; in a few years the company became one of the main producers and distributors of carnation cuttings for Colombian growers.

The organization decided to cultivate and market carnations in the world’s main cut-flower markets

USA, Canada, Japan, Germany, Netherlands, Russia, among others, an activity that took on its own identity in 2012 with the creation of the company GEOFLORA SAS.

The breeding program was moved to Colombia to strengthen production

The company started to develop and select carnation and spray carnation varieties locally, taking advantage of selecting varieties in the Sabana of Bogotá, with ideal climate conditions for the cultivation of these plants.

Alliance with Flavio Sapia

SB Talee strengthens the breeding program by inviting one of the most renowned ornamental breeders in Italy and the world, Mr. Flavio Sapia (Hybrida SRL). Moreover, this collaboration aims to increase and improve the breeding program of new varieties.

This year marked the birth of Geoflora, opening a new chapter in the floral industry

The cut flower operation became of considerable importance.

As a result, it was decided to completely separate it into an independent company, GEOFLORA SAS.

This allowed the organization to fully concentrate on producing and distributing the highest quality carnations and spray carnations to meet the demands of global markets.

SB Talee de Colombia remained as the company responsible of production and sales of carnation cuttings/mother plants.

Geoflora’s portfolio expanded with the inclusion of Ranunculus and Anemone

SB Talee became the exclusive agent for Colombia of Biancheri Creazioni, the leading company breeding Ranunculus and Anemone in the world. Contemporarily, Geoflora started the production of these flowers with a big success among its customers; every year new and better varieties are introduced to the assortment.

A specialized program for cut-flower Alstroemeria was launched

Carefully selecting the best performing varieties among the main Alstroemeria breeders in the market, the operation now has over 30 varieties of the main colors demanded by the international markets, with a very high quality of product, recognized by our customers around the world.

Today, we continue to innovate and make history in the floriculture sector

Today the company group works in close alliance. In this way, SB Talee continues developing innovative varieties of different Dianthus types and Alstroemeria.

The company produces and sells mother plants and cuttings of these varieties. In addition, Geoflora grows and supplies top-quality flowers.

This approach guarantees a steady introduction of new varieties for global markets such as Canada, China, England, Germany, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, and the United States.

Our farms

Our Farms, Salitre and San Nicolás, are located in Bojacá (Cundinamarca) in the Sabana de Bogotá, 45 Km (28 miles) west of bogota.
